Talladega College seeks an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach prepared to assist a highly competitive program. The successful candidate will be skilled at recruiting and developing talented athletes who are also strong academic students. We aspire to hire a leader who will be an integral part of the athletic department and the college and strengthen our community of belongings. Reporting to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive liberal arts education, NAIA athletics, and an appreciation for and commitment to the HBCU Athletic Conference, and institutional culture. Along with coaching, the candidate will be assigned responsibilities in the Department of Athletics. The candidate will have experience creating campus and community support for the Women’s Basketball program and their athletes and continue to build upon the tradition of competitive athletic programs. They will possess the ability to effectively communicate with a range of constituents and contribute to a positive work environment.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Recruitment and retention of student-athletics who can be successful in an athletically and academically rigorous environment.
2. Ability to develop the skills of athletes,
3. Create a competitive schedule within budget parameters,
4. Actively participate in fundraising strategies, oversee and balance the team's annual operating budget.
5. Written and verbal communication skills are important, along with a deep understanding of supporting the whole student.
Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree 2. College Coaching experience 3. Demonstrated ability to recruit academically and athletically successful student-athletes 4.
