Human Resources Generalist
Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist manages the daily operations of the HR department
with a heavy emphasis on compliance, leave administration, and payroll/benefits
oversight. This role serves as the on-site subject matter expert for employment law,
ensuring that all centralized processes—from recruitment to return-to-work—are
standardized, legally defensible, and aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Policy Management
Legal Expertise: Serve as the on-site expert for U.S. federal and state
employment law (ADA, ADEA, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, Wage & Hour).
Standardization: Establish and maintain centralized HR processes to ensure
consistent and fair application of workplace policies across all supported states.
Legislative Monitoring: Track regulatory changes and update internal policies
to maintain continuous compliance.
Employee Relations: Lead investigations into employee concerns and partner
with leadership to implement corrective actions and preventive solutions.
Leave & Benefits Administration
Leave Management: Manage and process FMLA and other leave programs;
calculate leave balances and ensure data accuracy.
Workers’ Compensation: Manage return-to-work processes following leave
under worker’s compensation in close coordination with department heads.
Benefits Oversight: Administer employee insurance coverage and benefit
options, including enrollment and responding to employee inquiries.
Operational HR & Payroll
Payroll Support: Support payroll processing and calculate leave adjustments to
ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Talent Acquisition: Partner with hiring managers to recruit, interview, and
onboard qualified candidates, including conducting background checks.
Reporting: Generate and analyze HRIS and payroll-related reports to identify
trends and process improvements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or
a related field preferred.
Experience: 5–7+ years of HR experience of broad HR experience,
Candidates must be highly knowledgeable of employment laws including EEO,
ADA, Title VII, FMLA, and FLSA
Systems: Proficiency in HRIS and payroll platforms (ADP, Paychex, Kronos,
ADP Workforce Now preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Legal Knowledge: In-depth understanding of U.S. employment and benefits
laws and immigration regulations.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills with the
ability to operate effectively at all organizational levels.
Discretion: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with the highest
