Senior Manager/Supervisor
Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Computer Science courses in the
Computer Science program. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Department Chair and
is slated to begin in fall 2026.
Responsibilities
Teaching Programming, Database, Networking or Cybersecurity courses as well as introductory
courses in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity curriculum.
Teaching schedules may include in person, online, hybrid instruction and other instructional
modalities that enhance student learning.
Teaching responsibilities include innovative and engaging use of technology in the classroom.
Additional activities include curriculum development, academic mentoring/advisement,
participation in Departmental and Division activities, support of college activities, and professional
development.
Active service on college committees.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related field from an accredited
institution and a minimum of three years’ experience in higher education. Applicants with an
interest in cybersecurity, database and programming languages are preferred. The ideal candidate
will also have excellent teaching skills; good interpersonal skills; effective written and oral
communication skills and the ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty as
demonstrated by experience in higher education. The candidate will demonstrate experience or
ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse
collegiate community. Industry or entrepreneurial experience is useful.
