Assistant Professor of Biology
Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Biology courses in the Biology program. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Department Chair and is slated to begin in fall 2025.
Responsibilities
● Responsibilities include teaching Anatomy & Physiology I, Anatomy & Physiology II, Introductory biology for majors and non majors as well as other courses in the biology curriculum.
● Teaching responsibility to include innovative use of technology and student engagement in the classroom.
● Other responsibilities include student academic advisement, maintaining office hours and service to the college.
● Actively serve on college committees and student organizations.
● Meet established deadlines.
● Other duties as assigned by the Chair, Dean, or Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Qualifications
● Preferred Ph.D. in Biology, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution, with at least 18 graduate hours in biology.
● Successful teaching experience at the college level.
● Should have documented performance in teaching, scholarship and service with an ability to work independently and as a team member. A commitment to student engagement and learning.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
